The property is situated in a central position in the Island, just a couple of miles from the capital Douglas. This means easy access to the North, South, East and West, allowing you to benefit from everything the Isle of Man has to offer. If you don’t want to use your car, motorcycle or bike, you can take advantage of the extensive bus network, with your local stop just a couple of minutes away. From Douglas you can take either the steam train south to Port Erin, or electric railway to Ramsey in the north – journeys which will enchant and enthral all ages!
The Isle of Man is the only entire country to be granted UNESCO Biosphere status, and together with its unique culture and heritage sites, it offers outstanding walks of majestic scenery and waterfalls, including the internationally accredited Raad Na Foillan – “The Way of the Gull”. The Millennium Walk traverses the internal parts of the Island, offering up the majestic splendour of the peaks, and our very own mountain Snaefell. All of which within easy reach!
Golfers will be in their element, with a range of parkland and links courses within easy distance. Should you wish, specialist tours are available, enabling you to take advantage of vital local knowledge!
If cycling, as well as the road network, there are also many areas for “off-roading”, and if you’re feeling really adventurous, you can tackle the end-to-end route which will take you on a journey through the centre of the Isle of Man, from the North to the South!
All in all, for a family group, or just a group of friends, staying at The Lodge provides countless opportunities for all ages - whether to visit its heritage sites, immerse yourself in the Island’s unique culture, enjoy the majestic scenery, or take part in some of the many adventure pursuits.
The house has three good sized bedrooms, consisting of a twin room and two doubles (one en-suite). An additional room features a comfortable sofabed, a snug for two people! A large lounge offers comfortable seating for all guests and there is a roomy open plan kitchen/breakfast bar, together with a separate dining room.
Adjoining the kitchen to the rear of the property is a sizeable conservatory overlooking the large garden, which contains seating.
Plenty of parking is available on the driveway which also features a large double garage.

The house is located in the lovely quiet village of Glen vine, a short drive from the capital Douglas. Lovely large family home with large rear garden and conservatory. The floors upstairs are really creaky so you cant move about the house with out everybody knowing about it.Apart from a few items not working such as the kettle, and a door handle falling off the toilet door, it was a perfect escape away from the hustle and bustle of the big city.
Property was easily located and central for exploring the whole of the island. On arrival the house was thoroughly clean & vey comfortable for our four adults and two small dogs. The 'welcome pack' was much appreciated meaning we didn't need to go back out shopping immediately on arrival. Only down points were : - no coat hooks in the hallway, hall mirror was far too high for the average hight person to use. Facilities : kettle on / off switch very temperamental, needing great patience to operate. Hot water regularly ran out after only two showers.Overall a very comfortable home from home to stay whilst visiting IOM.
Arrived 9 pm and tired after a 2 hour delayed ferry on a very rainy dark day, what waited for us at The Lodge was a home with a warm and welcome feeling which was experienced as soon as we opened the door. It was like coming home. It is clean and spacious, fully equipped throughout with a large enclosed garden for the dogs to run free in.Located 10 minutes on the Peel road out of Douglas it is perfectly placed to visit any part of the island.The Island Escapes downloadable guide was invaluable and was used many times during the stay. If we are to return to the island again then this is where we would stay again.
The house is spacious and well equipped, and six adults and a 4 year old had a great holiday for a week. The provision of some DVD's and a smart TV was useful. The locations was great for us wanting to travel to all 4 corners of the wonderful Isle of Man.We had some minor gripes. The kettle took numerous times on the switch to operate. The floor upstairs creaks like a Victorian property and the toilet flushes were loud, which was awkward for us with (1) a 4 year old who wakes at the slightest noise and (2) an adult who likes to sleep in ! The sofa bed had seen better days. Overall however, The Lodge was comfortable and we enjoyed the stay.
Clean, comfortable, spacious, a quiet area, close to Douglals by car and with good transport .
We found the accommodations great very spacious clean and well equipped. The only negative thing I would say is the bed settee was very uncomfortable and my daughters didnt sleep very well at all, other than that we had a great stay.
The Lodge was ideally located for us just nicely out of Douglas but not too far from amenities, shops etc. The property was ideal a few minor things of note - nothing diabolical - the pillows on the beds could do with renewing, the kitchen tap needed a little maintenance - but overall a good property to stay in. The kitchen was very well equipped, the property was warm and comfortable and very clean. The welcome pack was very welcome especially if you were to arrive late. Overall a good stay.
Booking and dealing with Island Escapes was very good: information received promptly. The Lodge was very clean, tidy and pleasant. The kitchen was well-equipped. The garden was very secure for our dogs (fenced in all the way around at the back). Good access to the garden vis the conservatory. All in all we had a very relaxing stay. Thank you!
Lovely house with plenty of room. Everything you need (washing machine, dryer, and a double garage for the bikes!). Quiet area with a co-op just up the road. Highly recommended
I would have given a 5 for comfort. condition and value for money, but it was let down by the condition of the conservatory furniture which was unbelievably tatty and uncomfortable. This let the property down. A shame because it was very good otherwise.
The Lodge was perfect for our stay. Spotlessly clean and very well equipped. Easy access to public transport. We would stay again.
Spacious house, ideally located close to Douglas. Made a great home from home for the week and had everything we needed.
We have really enjoyed staying at the Lodge. Our trip to the Isle of Man was nearly 8 hours. We really appreciated the welcome bread / butter / milk so that we could have a much needed snack and drink ok arrival. The property is very well presented and John has been very helpful in answering questions and accommodating any needs we had. I would recommend booking this property. The area is really nice and its very quiet. Thank you

A spacious and immaculate house with all the facilities you could wish for. The double garage was particularly useful for the 5 motorcycles. A lovely garden and conservatory were a real bonus - the house being all you could wish for, for a week long trip to the TT. A great pub and shop are walking distance and Douglas a short cab ride away. The location was great. In seconds youre on the TT course (at end of road!).

Very comfortable house but although it sleeps 8 there is only seating for 6 at dining table, in the lounge and conservatory. Great access to Douglas and Peel. Would stay again if there was a refuction in price.

An excellent place to stay for a weekend with friends. We didnt spend too much time in the house during the day and only used the kitchen facilities for breakfast and drinks. Everything we needed in well stocked kitchen except perhaps large bowl for microwave. Lovely to have conservatory and garden to enjoy the sunshine.The beds very comfortable and bathrooms had everything we needed. We did find the bedroom doors rattled when closed at night if windows were open. Just a small thing.Overall a very good stay. Thank you.

Very nice house, pleanty of space and well equipped. Good size rooms and garden. Beds were comfortable.
All round great property just need some new mattresses, both the double beds were very tired & definitely need replacing, can't vouch for the singles or sofa bed as they weren't used.Everything else was absolutely spot on but we would ask if the mattresses have been replaced before staying there again.

This is a lovely property to stay in. Its spacious, light and perfect for a family. The beds were comfortable, the house is well stocked and there are lots of games and dvds. The garden is secure and a great size, we used the outdoor table for evening meals on the summer nights. There were a few things that could be improved: Generally the house appeared clean. However, the floors could be cleaner, white socks turned black! It would be great to have a washing line or clothes airer to avoid using the tumble dryer/radiators when possible. The hot water was not great, we followed the instructions and used the boost button but never managed more than 5 minutes of hot water for the shower.
This house was spotlessly clean and had plenty of room for everyone to sit comfortably, the kitchen was well equipped with lots of crockery and cutlery but only one tea towel, The bedrooms were comfortable, and had enough pillows and bedding, lovely soft towels were a nice touch to the immaculate bathrooms, the only downside was that this house was advertised as a four bedroomed house for up to eight people but the fourth bedroom was tiny with only a sofa bed and nothing else, this was way too small for two people to sleep on, it just fitted a child comfortably as the mattress was very thin, also, on arrival, it was not made up as requested, this was remedied straight away on request. To summarise, this house was in a perfect location in the centre of the island, it was very clean, very comfortable but only suitable as a three-bedroomed house with a sofa bed in a box room,.we thoroughly enjoyed our stay as there was only 6 of us
We really enjoyed our stay at The Lodge and couldnt fault the customer service.Only comment is that for the price we paid we would expect better quality.bedding and towels.
