A beautifully restored property, set in a huge private garden, you really feel immersed in the countryside here, yet only a 5 min drive from Peel. The owner came to welcome us when we arrived, which was a nice touch. We are hoping to stay again next year.
We have had a wonderful holiday, based at The Old Coach House. The cottage is well-equipped and was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the lovely views and visits to all the local beauty spots. We loved the log burner on chilly evenings.
A wonderful house in a superb location. All facilities you will need, tastefully done. Situated in farmland with cows gently plodding to fields and birds singing in the trees. There is so much to see on the island. We had a great week.
The old coach house has stunning views and great character. The cosy fire was a treat on rainy, cold days. When the sun shone the children loved playing in the beautiful garden. A really delightful place to stay, tucked away from it all.
We are walkers and cyclists, and the Coach House suited our needs perfectly. There was a fully stocked kitchen, a lovely bathroom with shower and bath, and plenty of space to live in whilst there. We walked the coastline, walked Snaefell and also took a tram ride up Snaefell, dined out on the Steam Train, and cycled the heritage path from Peel to Douglas and back again. Took full advantage of the Manx National Heritage Site Holiday Pass - visiting the Laxey Wheel x 2, Manx Museum and Peel Castle.
Beautiful place to stay provided everything we needed and it is the perfect location for us. Second year in a row we've stayed and no doubt about it we'll be back
My son and I spent a relaxing week exploring the island from this cosy, comfortable base which was well-equipped with everything we needed. We enjoyed watching the cows come and go in their daily routine, as well as spotting rabbits and birds, over breakfast and in the evenings. The peaceful location was a refreshing break from our normal town and city existence. The DVD of 'The Isle of Man from the Air', which we found in a drawer in the cottage, gave us excellent background information which helped us to get more from our visit. It was good to know we had a little haven to return whenever we were tired or the weather closed in on us.
Delightfully situated overlooking fields of grazing dairy cows with views towards the north and west. Very well equipped and comfortable and enjoying extensive grounds for relaxation and family activities.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay - from the moment we drove into the pretty daffodil lined lane way and the quaint cottage came into view we knew wed found somewhere special. The cottage was very well equipped & comfortable, right down to providing bathrobes and slippers - a lovely touch. Beds were comfortable and the shower hot and powerful. Located near to the village of Patrick, we found it excellently situated to tour the island with nowhere much more than a twenty minute drive. We were able to pack a lot into our 3 day stay - the kids loved the various train and tram rides, the wildlife park provided much entertainment to adults and children alike and there were many times driving around the views we saw simply took our breath away - we were lucky to see the island in the spring sunshine and it was truly beautiful. From seeing seals at the point of Ayre lighthouse (& wow what a beach!) to the view down at the Sound Cafe looking out to the Calf of Man, and standing at the top of the Laxey wheel to eating ice cream in Peel not to mention all the places in betweenwe certainly saw and did a lot and have made some lovely memories to look back on with great fondness. Thank you for such a wonderful stay.
We have stayed at the Coach House many times over the years and we keep being drawn back as it is a truly magical place. Secluded, calm and cosy, the views over rolling countryside are amazing. Everything is functional and comfortable. Nothing beats an early evening by the fire after a days walking in the many Manx glens.
The Coach House is the perfect place to stay if you want a quiet, relaxing place to stay on the Isle of Man. It is a very comfortable self catering property, that is well furnished with everything you could need for your stay. It is well placed, a mile or so from Peel, which makes it a good base to explore from, and only 20 minutes from the Airport. There are a few good, local restaurants within easy driving distance and a reasonable size Co-op for shopping about 10 minutes drive away.
For myself and my partner, this is our second time staying at The Coach House. For us, its perfect. Its isolated so you get the benefit of the peace and quite but only 10-15 minutes from Peel as and when you need food or want to go out for a meal.We love the layout and the open plan kitchen and lounge and the wood burner is the best bit. The wood basket and kindling is always full to the brim so you can have many cosy nights in.
Well-located and well-equipped property. Mostly very comfortable, but sofas very dirty (partly explained by the signs saying that, if the doors are left open, the dog from the adjoining farm will sit on the furniture). The garden is more open to the farm than the website pictures suggest. Generous supply of logs and kindling but lighter provided didnt work and only two matches and two firelighters provided. Knives and scissors very blunt.
We had a lovely time, loved the views, and the log burner. The location was very convenient, and we found everything we needed at the house. Hope to return again! Thank you!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in The Old Coach House. The wood burning stove made the sitting room cosy when it rained. It is with walking distance to Peel which has lots of eating places and there are great walks along the coast to Glen Maye.
The Coach House is a lovely, cosy & comfortable cottage in a rural location, but only a couple of miles from Peel. The cottage was very well equipped & had comfortable beds with crisp bed linen, fluffy towels, bathrobes & slippers! The wood burner kept us snug on cool evenings & there were plenty of logs to keep us going. The cottage is ideal for chilling out & having a peaceful & relaxing time. The garden area would be perfect for families with children. We would be very happy to stay at the Coach House if we visit the Isle of Man again. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.
Had a brilliant stay, the location for us was perfect as we spend a lot of time at Peel. The views were outstanding, the cows fascinating to watch. Light airy open plan. For our family everything we needed was provided. So much so we've already booked & paid deposit for next year
Very attractive upstairs kitchen, dining and living area. Lovely views. Modern bathroom and comfortable bedrooms.
We had a lovely holiday on the IOMHave to say Island Escapes keep the old coach house spotless & very helpful. The old coach is a great place to stay great location large private gardenWell equipped what's not to love
We had the best time at The Coach. Great location, really comfortable with all we needed for a 4 night stay. The gardens are beautiful and were already missing the cows! Would highly recommend to families.
An excellent cottage that is well maintained and provided a fantastic base from which we could explore the island. Great walks around the cottage and the cottage was very quiet and peaceful with plenty of room for our two children to explore within a safe environment.
A beautiful place in an idyllic setting. Fantastic place to unwind and let the kids have the space to enjoy themselves. We will definitely look to return.
We loved everything about this cottage, a true home from home with so many little extra touches . We will definitely be staying here again as we have family on IOM and this cottage is perfect for visiting family and seeing the tourist sights of IOM.PERFECT
Log burner, red wine, good food, jigsaw and escape - totally relaxed - just what was needed - perfect!
Really enjoyed our staycation here. Hidden away house with interesting history. Comfy beds with electric blankets. Loved having the fire on every evening.
Wonderful accommodation for a staycation or holiday. Extremely peaceful and private remote setting. Beautiful open plan kitchen and lovely lounge with log fire. Nice bathroom and bedrooms. Feels very spacious with the high ceilings. Highly recommended.
A wonderful house in a great location. Very well converted building and beautifully equipped, with high quality fittings, linen, furniture, etc. Several thoughtful features, such as huge log supply for the wood burner, starter food pack of Manx-produced items, and binoculars. Thank you - we love it!
The Old Coach House is quite simply the best self-catering cottage that I have ever visited. There is nothing more to say!
Lovely accommodation in a peaceful, rural setting with lovely views. Great place to switch off and unwind.
Excellent accommodation with good facilities in a great location. The west coast, south of Peel, is fantastic for walking.
The property is lovely and full of character, there are lots of home comforts, a well equipped kitchen and the beds were so comfortable! The best thing is the huge garden, we went as a family of 4 and the children loved the open space. Theres a lovely decked area with amazing views of the area, its so peaceful and the sky at night is amazing.. weve not seen as many stars in the sky before! The cottage is in such a peaceful location but is very close to Peel and its easy to get to in a car or a taxi. All in all a great stay and I would definitely recommend.
If you want peace and quiet fantastic place to go cleanliness and utensils in kitchenHighly recommended
