As local Isle of Man residents we were looking to host some off Island friends and enjoy a little staycation. Carrick Bay Apartment is truly a home away from home, it is furnished with all the necessities you would ever require and all of the small details have been thought of. The location of the apartment is truly spectacular and made for some truly memorable sunrises over looking the bay. To be able to take our little dog with made the entire weekend that much more special. Island Escapes made the entire trip from booking, to gaining access to the apartment and even understanding how heating etc worked - a real ease. We cannot wait to book again!
Smart clean apartment in a great location. Well equipped kitchen, good quality crockery and glasses. Comfortable beds with clean fresh white bedding.
Beautiful view, lovely apartment. Easy location for visiting the South of the island. Recommended.
We had a fantastic stay here. The customer service with island escapes was second to none. The information throughout was clear and relevant. Carrick bay apartments is a credit to the owner, comfortable and clean, homely. We hope to stay again in the future.
No complaints, apart from having to share the property with my buddy ! Just joking !Would book again no problem and the private parking was excellent.
This apartment is in a lovely area to enable you to explore PortSt Mary to its fullest. The living area at the front with the kitchen and dining all there is lovely. The access is reasonable but at the back there are several steps. We had a fabulous week and were pleased to be able to bring our dog who absolutely loved it too!
This is a lovely property, ideal for my mum who has limited mobility, being all on one level. It was very comfortable and clean. Well equipped, everything we needed was there. Great location. shop and eateries within walking distance or within easy reach. Lovely sea views. Many thanks for the goodies, very welcoming and a lovely touch.
We loved the apartment. It was light with lovely views of the sea. The king sized bed in the main bedroom was really comfortable.
I particularly enjoyed the stunning view from the breakfast table looking out over the bay in the mornings - just beautiful! Very well appointed and clean modern kitchen. Light and airy, comfortable and warm ground floor apartment - lovely to come back and relax in after a day outdoors. Fabulous location for walks along the southern coast and around the harbour, and close to golf courses and sandy beaches. Hosts readily available for any queries - but nothing extra was needed. Allocated car parking spot enabled direct access via french doors to the master bedroom which was very convenient. The local Co op is only a short walking distance from the apartment which was also very useful.
Really noisy boiler above master bedroom made sleeping very difficult. Clearly a damp issue in the property - lots of unpleasant room scent hanging everywhere which didn't mask the nasty damp smell.Had to keep master bedroom blind closed entire stay as neighbours opposite look directly in, zero privacy.Scaffolding in front of the property spoiling the lovely view.Real shame - these should really have been made clear pre-booking.
We have stayed at this lovely, well equipped apartment before, but this was the first time staying over Christmas. We loved the Christmas tree and the other decorations, thank you, as well as the Manx produce left for us. You thought of everything. We hope to return soon!
We really enjoyed our stay. Carrick Bay is in an excellent location in Port St Mary and has stunning views from the front windows. It is worth getting up early to watch the sunrise! It is near to shops, the Coop supermarket, cafes, the Albert pub and we had an excellent meal at The Boathouse. The spacious apartment is well equipped, TV in the lounge with Sky and a selection of DVDs, TV in each bedroom, well equipped modern kitchen with dishwasher, washer dryer and coffee machine, comfy beds and adequate wardrobe space. The apartment was spotlessly clean and we loved the Manx produce left for us on arrival. The apartment has its own parking space at the rear of the property. We found the booking process with Island Escapes easy and we have booked to return again to Carrick Bay later this year.
A fantastic apartment that has everything that is needed, it is well maintained with good bedding and very comfortable beds.Handy for the town and pub.Recommend local restaurants- Andreas and Boathouse.
Lovely location Good kitchenIssues with the apt not being clean were dealt with .TV controls impossible ! But help arrived quicklyMain bathroom water not hot enoughand a bit dampTwin room noisy if owners were in up stairsBut overall a good holiday
This is a great apartment with the added bonus of a private parking space. The lounge area may not be the most luxurious in the world and the sofa is a bit old and saggy, but what it lacks in that area it more than makes up for in the view and overall feel of the place. It is homely and you immediately feel relaxed and comfortable. To wake up and enjoy your coffee looking straight out across the harbour is a wonderful start to the day. The kitchen is well equipped, the beds super comfy and the owners are lovely. We had a small issue with the TV and they immediately came to sort it out and were very friendly. Would definitely stay here again.
This apartment was perfect for us. Easy access was important , all ground floor, spacious and in a great location. It is very well equipped with everything you could need for your stay. The added bonus are the fantastic views and the more or less instant access to the sea front and some great walking. We would happily stay again.
A fantastic apartment, the views are amazing and having your own parking space is a major bonus. The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the dining area lovely. Bedrooms are very spacious and beds comfortable, the only down side is the damp smell around the bathrooms and the macerator toilets (which I know cant be helped). All in all it is a great apartment in a fantastic location and we will be back.
Amazing stay - location brilliant, comfortable stay and everything you would need. Defiantly will stay again. The view was amazing!! Thank you island escapes. Liz
We rented the property for 4 nights between vacating our property in Port St Mary and emigrating from the island. It provided a comforting base for the four of us and all our luggage! The only criticism I would have was that you could not increase the shower temperature and so we found the water tepid. The bedrooms are also quite cold, even with the heating on. I'm not sure if its because they're at the back of the property because the lounge area was lovely and warm. I would include a few blankets for the beds. The bathroom off the passage needs more ventilation as there's a damp smell in it.Otherwise the apartment is very well equipped and the sunny lounge/dining/kitchen provides a lovely spot from which to enjoy and view!
Lovely accommodation in scenic Port St Mary. Well appointed, warm and comfortable. Christmas decorations and tree were a festive bonus! Nice surprise. Very handy location for walking our 2 gentle greyhounds. Off road parking to the rear was a great benefit. Convenient for shops and eateries. Highly recommend this property.
The apartment was in a good location near to the beach and good for walking my very small Yorkie. Also near to local supermarket. Facilities in the apartment were very good - kitchen, bathroom etc. and everything was in reasonable condition.I have stayed in a number of properties before booked through Island Escapes and all were very good but this is my first time trying an apartment.
Really enjoyed our stay in Port St Mary. Excellent apartment and location. Host very friendly and helpful. Only negative was noisy macerator.Would stay again.
First tip: when you arrive on the island, change the country on your sat nav! Having done a bit of reading beforehand we knew to say hello (well, goodnight as it was around midnight) to the fairies at their bridge. The apartment was fabulous. A glorious view across Port St. Mary harbour. It was only the two of us so we had plenty of space to spread out. We appreciated food in the fridge, and the tea/coffee. Parking was very handy at the back. When booking I enquired about disabled access and there are steps into the property, but the floors are flat and smooth, so my wife could move around well even without crutches. There is a Co-op nearby, a post office, chemist, and takeaways. Two coffee shops but note their opening times. There are a few ways down to the beach, and the place was quiet and relaxing. Port Erin is a short drive which has a Shoprite supermarket (with Sainsbury's stuff on sale). As for the chippy there, yes they do very tasty chips and proper fishcakes! The apartment is very well stocked - I'd suggest you have a look in all the cupboards and kitchen drawers to see what is where. As the trip was a 60th birthday present for the ManxGP/Classic TT it was a pleasant drive towards the Mountain Course, and as it wasn't the proper TT there was a more relaxed, spacious atmosphere. There is a helpline if you have problems, but I'd like to have left a voicemail instead of it just ringing and ringing. Would I book again? Indeed - and we are pondering booking for next year's Manx GP, its centenary.
Great location, facilities good. We enjoyed our stay.Thank You ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I booked Carrick Bay Apartment for my son and family for a 4 day stay and they were absolutely delighted. Communication and information with Island Escapes was excellent throughout. The apartment is well situated only a few minutes walk from beaches, shops, restaurant, cafes and the railway station. Spectacular views across Port St Mary marina and Gansey Bay from the front windows and the shutters on the floor to ceiling windows provide privacy without blocking the view. Inside the apartment the decor is fresh and modern. Very spacious lounge and bedrooms, with a well equipped kitchen. The Manx milk, bread, butter and cheese and tea/coffee provided was a generous touch that was very much appreciated. Everything was very clean. The ample parking space at the back of the property made access easy. I would highly reccomend the Carrick Bay Apartment and Island Escapes
Lovely apartment, everything you could wish for. Unfortunately some of the near by restaurants are no longer open but as we came predominantly for the bike racing not an issue for us. Easy parking but also on a bus route to Castletown and Douglas. May well be back next year.
Excellent location with stunning views all amenities in the property were perfect. Great base to explore the island.

This was a great apartment for us to stay in during the TT. Obviously prices were high given the time of year but it is somewhere I would definitely book again. The neighbours were great, the view of the bay was amazing. Very clean. We really enjoyed our stay here. It could have done with a dust pan for when we were cleaning up, there was a brush but no pan and yes I know it's self catering but some additional bin bags wouldn't go amiss. Overall very good and like I said we would definitely stay again.
Really nice accommodation, shower tray eas leaking, but fast reply, would stop again.Lovely spot..
Terrific view and very good bedding (though missing protectors on singles!)Macerators VERY noisy and inefficientEn suite shower room very poor and not needed as main shower room just as close- better use of space could have been made. Soundproofing to upstairs poor.Parking car awkward due to restrictions - especially at weekends when arriving/departing.No handles on kitchen drawers and cupboards a nuisance
Just returned from a long weekend in the Isle of Man. Not our first visit so expecting to be hit by the elements, but this was the best weather we've ever had. Which made the view from Carrick Bay Apartment off the scale. Inside, the property is immaculate, and generously kitted out with everything you need on arrival. Plenty of crisp, white towels, very comfortable beds, and a spacious kitchen/dining/living area. Will definitely return, and definitely recommend.
Wonderful apartment with well equipped kitchen. Excellent location, close to local pub, shops and restaurants. Nice coast walks. Only minus was mattress in single beds - one guest found uncomfortable and Maceraters noisy. A clothes horse for drying would be a helpful, although the washing machine does have a drying mode. And just a suggestion- mattress protector, or you could find you have problems later on. All in all would highly recommend accommodation. 9 out of 10
