Wisteria Cottage is set in the north of the Isle of Man in an expanse of farmland providing the perfect scenery to truly relax and unwind in the great outdoors!
Book nowWisteria Cottage is a self-catering holiday cottage in a wonderfully rural location on a farm in the north of the Isle of Man. In the surrounding area is an expanse of farmland providing the perfect scenery to truly relax and unwind in the great outdoors!
The property is set in lovely gardens and woodland, complete with a small lake. The farm is mostly arable and includes 2.5 acres of lavender and a newly planted cider apple orchard where we are growing cider apples for Isle of Cider. The wonderful local dairy, Aalin Dairy, keeps some calves and cows on the farm during spring and summer. Take a walk around and lose yourself in the many acres of land that the cottage sits within. There is an abundance of flora surrounding Wisteria Cottage and a dawn walk to listen to the birdsong is quite magical. The beautiful walled garden in the grounds is for your exclusive private use, a real suntrap or place to look at the stars! The farmhouse is across the green from Wisteria cottage and the farmers will be glad to help if you need anything and glad to give you a friendly wave if you don’t!
If nature is your thing then you have to explore The Ayres National Nature Reserve, a 15 minute drive away. A quirky part of the island to visit that's also protected is Ballaugh Curraghs wetlands, home to a unique colony of wild, but shy, wallabies descended from previous escapees from the Wildlife Park.
The cottage is extremely fortunate to be in an area where several species of bat were identified during a recent bat survey. You may be lucky enough to see them at dusk or even hear bat activity at night! The bats' summer roosts are normally active until mid September. You may see the wonderful little creatures emerge to search for flying insects at dusk, it’s fleeting but a lovely sight.
Inside Wisteria Cottage you will find a homely holiday cottage, providing comfortable accommodation for your visit! There are three bedrooms, a double with en-suite, a linked single room suitable for a child and a twin room with a further en-suite.
The nearby town of Ramsey has a great selection of shops, cafes and restaurants, a swimming pool, bowling alley and Golf Course. The Mooragh Park in Ramsey boasts a boating lake, children's play area & splash park, outdoor bowling, tennis and cafe; it even provides outdoor exercising equipment. There are also two transport museums and a great go-karting facility in nearby Jurby.
Wisteria Cottage is proud to be Hard of Hearing Aware, and can offer a Deaf Guard Fire Alarm Warning System on request. Both orange and brown hearing aid batteries are supplied by the owners who live adjacent to Wisteria Cottage, they will be happy to provide the necessary information and equipment for you to use during your stay.
Children under 10 years of age must be supervised at all times by an adult during their stay at Wisteria Cottage due to the small lake located nearby and farm and garden machinery. We can welcome one non-shedding, friendly dog. There is a mix of livestock in adjoining fields so your dog will need to be under your control at all times. Confirmation of up to date flea treatment is needed please.
From April onwards, the owners of Wisteria Cottage will be producing lavender oil and guests will be very welcome to see a demonstration of how it's done. The lavender farm shop will also open on Saturdays for the public should they wish to purchase the locally produced oil and benefit from its qualities! The lavender shop is next door to Wisteria Cottage, as seen in the photos.

The owners were so friendly and helpful, when we had to change ferries which meant we were arriving a lot later than expected the owner stocked the cottage with some bread, milk, cheese & butter so we had the essentials. They showed us around the grounds and their Lavender business explaining the processes involved which was very interesting. Nothing was too much trouble, the property was beautiful, it was so clean and warm (they adjusted the heating times to meet our requirements) and explained how the Aga worked as I'd never cooked on one of those before. I would recommend the cottage to anyone and will definitely look to stay here if we visit the Isle of Man again.
Lovely setting, peaceful, relaxing stay in a spacious and beautiful property.Excellent hosts. We picked the perfect place!
We really loved our stay in Wisteria Cottage. Lovely hosts, couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. Beautifully done barn conversion with large bedrooms and plenty of living space. Well equipped - plenty of bathroom space, handy with teenagers! Could maybe have done with one more seat in the living room as squeezing 3 of us on a sofa in the evenings was quite tight but that's a suggestion not a niggle! Very peaceful, tranquil location with lots of outdoor space as well as private walled garden which was beautiful. In easy reach of anywhere on the island but tucked away so perfect for those who want a rural retreat.
The cottage is lovely. The grounds are idyllic, and the walled garden is a wonderful place to sit and read a book or have a drink.
Loved our staycation . Beverly was so helpful and kind as I was with my elderly mum .The walled garden was dreamy .
This is a lovely house set in extensive grounds. We were warmly welcomed by Bev the owner. It is a peaceful setting with extensive views. The house is well equipped and very comfortable. As a bonus Bev grows lavender and wonderful lavender ice-cream and cookies are available. It is worth coming to the Isle of Man just to stay at Wisteria Cottage
The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable and cozy stay on the Isle of Man. Excellent location to appreciate nature and wildlife. A warm welcome and excellent tour of the grounds provided by Beverley and Molly. I would definitely recommend Wisteria Cottage for anyone wanting to appreciate a relaxing holiday in the North of the Island.
Absolutely stunning place so pleased I stayed here, Beverly, Denzil and Molly the paws are so welcoming. Beverly very kindly walked me around all the grounds and the walled garden which are so peaceful and beautiful, great for a wander around with the dog before going out for the day, the cottage is beautiful and when I had a slight problem with the trip switch Beverly and Denzil were a phone call away and straight over to sort it out for me, the cottage is equipped with absolutely everything you need also a lovely Manx package of bread, milk, eggs, butter and cheese in the fridge, teas, coffee and biscuits on the kitchen table and a gift on the doorstep for the paws and myself ( such a lovely touch) the cottage is very spacious and was very clean and tidy and you can park your car close to the cottage. I stayed for a long weekend in October 23 and I have just booked my next long weekend stay.
We really enjoyed our stay at Wisteria Cottage which is set in a wonderful location in beautiful extensive grounds. The cottage is attractively decorated and well stocked. We were very comfortable there and made good use of it as the weather was unsettled.Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage. The owners live on site and couldn't have been more helpful.
This cottage was the perfect refuge for us while we explored the Isle of Man. The owners were a delight, but not too intrusive and made us feel very welcome, especially the dog. There's plenty of space both inside and out, literally acres of grounds to explore, decent sized rooms to relax in, a decent sized telly too (although we didn't use it). All the appliances we wanted were there and none of the 'helpful' signs taped everywhere. It really was a home from home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Wisteria Cottage, it is homely, clean and comfortable with everything you could need. The grounds and gardens are beautiful but what really makes it extra special are the hosts. Beverley and Denzil were so welcoming and generous in their time, from showing us round to the extra little gifts left on the doorstep. We would highly recommend a stay here and would love to come back!
Beautiful cottage, own private garden as well as grounds to walk in. Owner was lovely and very accommodating. Very well equipped
Enjoyed a wonderful stay at Wisteria Cottage which was prepared beautifully for our arrival with a few welcome provisions in the fridge too! Beverley gave us a lovely warm welcome and showed us around the walks on the estate- exceeded our expectations- and the secret private garden too for our use! She was a lovely neighbourly presence throughout our stay. We loved the peace and space of the location with gorgeous views of Snaefell and the surrounding hills. The cottage is spacious and beautifully maintained with three showers suited the needs of a family of 5 with teenagers. Beverley even provided garden games and treats for our dog. The only suggestion is that the duvets were quite thick for summer and so a lighter tog with blanket would have suited us better. The IOM escape team have been swift, helpful and professional throughout the whole booking and our stay. Very impressed and will highly recommend to others. Thank you to everyone!
Greeted by Beverley on our arrival. She was extremely welcoming and friendly and took the time to show us all around the property and grounds. The cottage itself was exactly as shown on line, beautiful. Wine, biscuits, tea, coffee, condiments were waiting for us. Wisteria Cottage was ideally situated for a relaxing holiday but within easy reach of beaches and towns.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Exceptional facilities and beautiful setting. Recommend to everybody. We will be back!
Perfect stay in an amazing location. The cottage has everything you need and Beverley and Denzell are brilliant hosts, very warm and welcoming. The walled garden is a bonus and beautiful, we couldn't of asked for a better holiday. Would definitely recommend the cottage and hope to return soon.
It really is a pleasant place to stay. The private garden with fig trees was amazing. The grounds alone are close in size to a small park, with woodland walks and a pond close by, about 80 yards. The Berrag sword was amazing to see and handle, it really took your mind back to what life would have been in 900 BC.I would like to take this opportunity to praise the owners for their knowledge and guidance of the area.Wisteria Cottage will be my no 1 search to see if available, when I make a return trip in the future.
Very pleasant stay. Well looked after with excellent hosts. Good facilities and excellent location. Made to feel very welcome.
Wisteria Cottage, and its hosts Beverley, Denzil and Molly the dog, provided us all (age range 5 to 84) with the most relaxing, enjoyable, and friendly of holidays. This is a beautiful location, and the Cottage has everything that you need, and more, and then there is the lovely garden area to enjoy. On Easter Saturday when the Aga needed attention, Beverley and Denzil arranged for the service man to call that very evening - now that is what we would call excellent service; they are amazing hosts, and incredibly kind and thoughtful. We will certainly be booking again. (Please display my name as 'Jane')
Having enjoyed 4 staycations with Island Escapes, this is by far the top of the return list. Great!!
spent a lovely few day's at cottage with family, beautiful location and grounds to walk around.Children loved it and didn't want to leave says it all. Thanks Bev and Denzil.
The cottage was beautiful and well maintained throughout. The little touches such as local milk, butter, bread etc were very thoughtful and everything was lovely and clean. We stayed at the end of December and the Christmas touches made it very cosy . The walks around the cottage were breathtaking , we couldn't have asked for a better stay
The cottage is lovely and well-equipped, in a beautiful location with plenty of space, and the hostess is very friendly, welcoming and helpful. We couldn't recommend it more and definitely hope to be back
The property is spacious and super-comfortable. The barn has everything that guests could need. The grounds are an absolute joy to explore. The hosts were very helpful and welcoming and on-hand if needed. We had a fantastic stay and would definitely recommend this property. We were sad to leave.
My wife and I have just enjoyed an outstanding week at Wisteria Cottage. Everything was excellent; the warm welcome from hosts Beverley and Denzil (and Molly the dog); the cottage itself and the grounds; and the IoM itself. We can't wait to go back next year.
Beautiful holiday cottage in a delightful location. The owner, Beverley, was extraordinarily helpful and sociable. Absolutely perfect for a family break.
