Glen Maye is a quiet village, perfect for a relaxing getaway or if you'd like to get off the beaten track! The village is the home to a listed Manx National Glen of the same name, famous for its waterfall and bridged gorge. Follow the path through the woodland and the stream will lead you to a pebble beach and the Irish Sea. You can discover other walks across the Isle of Man here!
Peel, one of the Isle of Man's main towns, is a short drive or bus journey away. Here you can visit Peel Castle, originally a place of worship before becoming the fort of Magnus Barefoot. Don't forget The House of Manannan, which explores the Island's Celtic, Viking and maritime past! Discover the culinary delights on offer from fresh ice cream to kippers smoked on the quayside at Manx Moore Kipper Factory using oak chips in a century old tradition. Peel has an array of pubs and restaurants. Explore the town's mazy streets and it' independent shops, you never know what you might find!

Ballachrink Lodge sits in a sleepy little hollow on the west side of the island in the small drive through village of Glen Maye. Whilst there are no amenities in Glen Maye (e.g shops or pub), it is situated a mere 10 minute drive away from the larger town of Peel where you will find all amenities.The accommodation itself is well appointed and most definitely towards the top end of the scale as far as dog friendly accommodation is concerned. The secure garden is a bonus and prevented us from having to don wellies with our jammies for that first morning walk!The property is well equipped with everything you need for a holiday break and even if there is something extra you need then the owners live directly next door and were only too happy to assist. A much appreciated Welcome Food Basket was provided upon our first night of late arrival so we were able to have a cuppa and toast - thank you!Beds are extremely comfortable and both bedrooms have their own modern en-suites with powerful showers.The only minor negative comment is that parking is tight in the small communal courtyard and we were given an early morning alarm call each day of our stay from the neighbour slamming car doors and revving his engine directly outside the main bedroom window. Also there is building renovation being carried out at another neighbouring property meantime which meant lots of banging and machinery first thing. However these are temporary issues which are outwith the control of the owners and wouldnt prevent us from staying here again nor recommending it to other people.So long as you dont mind having to drive everywhere from your doorstep then you wont be disappointed with Ballchrink - even more so if you are a dog owner. Book it!!
A great place to stay, the property is comfortable and has everything you need and more. It was spotlessly clean and its obvious that the owners really care about their guests. We appreciated the extra thoughtful touches such as fresh flowers, a generous welcome basket and complimentary toiletries amongst many other things. Youre able to park right outside the front door which is ideal for unloading on arrival and the garden at the back is secure for dogs. We will definitely return. Thank you for a pleasant stay. PS A welcome addition was the airfryer, we hadnt used one before and it was interesting to be able to have a go. Were now thinking of buying one!
What a lovely place it was quiet and had everything in there to start your holiday a lovely basket with a load of goodies in even down to dog treats which my dog Dylan enjoyed very much and the garden .I would definitely recommend and we would stay there again.

Weve rented many holiday homes in many different places and this is by far the best we have stayed in. It is in a wonderful location, has absolutely everything one would need and more, high standard of finish and great customer service. This rental is exceptional value for money and it has been an absolute pleasure for our family to stay here whilst visiting the island.

Directions to it were not entirely helpful but we found it with What3Words. Key easily accessible and good parking. Very well equipped with good lighting and showers, comfie beds and good welcome pack. Property is modern and well designed. Owners nearby.

The property was very clean, modern and well equipped. We received a warm welcome. The enclosed garden was perfect for our dog ( poppy the Poodle) and there are public footpaths nearby too. Glen Maye is well located with easy driving to tour the whole island. The small town of Peel is nearby with all you need in restaurants and convenience stores for shopping. We love the Isle of Man, have visited twice in the last three years, a very pretty island.

This beautifully designed and furnished home is the epitome of style and comfort. The owner, Roberta has thought of everything you might need to ensure the perfect stay. We enjoyed the quiet location, the private garden and being equidistant to most parts of the island.There were lots of delicious goodies in the welcome basket and clear instructions for appliances and heating..The beds and showers were perfect as were the two large settees.We cooked every night as we didnt find any places to eat out within a 10 mile radius and every utensil we needed was provided.We found this the perfect home for 2 retired ladies who like their own bedrooms and bathrooms but its perfect for 2 couples too..
The accommodation was beautiful, the countryside setting glorious, and the hosts conscientious in their provision and accessibility (they left supplies for us on arrival, including fresh eggs from their own hens.) Overall, a fantastic stay at a top class location/property.

My wife and I had a very pleasant stay at Ballachrink Lodge. The property is secluded and quiet, yet very comfortable and very well equipped. From the moment we arrived Ballachrink Lodge we were welcomed by the owner. The accommodation is excellent. With a basket of goodies to use which was most welcome after a long ferry trip from the mainland.. Lots to see and do on the island.

We had a wonderful family break at Ballachrink Lodge - generous welcome hamper, modern furnished holiday cottage - everything was clean, kitchen had everything we needed, 3 large flat screen televisions digitally equipped was welcome for kids downtime at the end of each busy day. Beds comfortable, each bed room had an en-suite shower room. Location excellent, we have relatives in the North of the island but welcomed exploring local places on the west - Silverdale and Peel were both great days out. Good running routes by - coastal path from Glen Maye to Peel was stunning in the evening. Will consider staying here again next year.
This is a beautifully presented property in an excellent location, just 10 miins drive from Peel. It was spacious with quality fittings, fixtures and equipment. The property was extemely clean and a fabulous welcome pack on arrival. The garden was nicely kept with a good sitting area and barbeque. Parking was right outside the door.The owner lives next door and was very welcoming. All communication was excellent.The property is well placed for travelling around the island and was quiet and peaceful.We had a fabulous time and would very highly recommend this property.

Great place to stay definitely would recommend to friends and family.Great location close to a hidden beach. Easily one of the best places we have stayed in and would stay again.
On arrival we were extremely impressed, the owners of the property have gone the extra mile to ensure that we had a comfortable stay. My wife is disabled with a brain injury so the property on one level was absolutely perfect even disabled chairs in the bathroom. I would not hesitate to recommend and return, they only down side is the cost of the ferry from the mainland which makes your holiday expensive but thats no the owners of the property fault. In finishing we have been married for over 40 years and this is without question the best self catering accommodation we have stayed at well done to all concerned
We had a great weeks stay at Ballachrink. The house was modern, well equipped and had everything we needed for our holiday. The hosts were very friendly and the location was fantastic. The garden was well enclosed for our dog and there were some great walks nearby.
As a new holiday let it had everything and more that you'd expect. It was beautifully designed and decorated,clean lines,smart, comfortable with lovely furniture and linens. Two double bedrooms, both with en-suite facilities. Underfloor heating provided extra luxury. All equipment and more was provided. The owners made us feel wecome. There are some beautiful walks all around so a perfect base for a holiday.
