Seal Rock is a ground floor apartment with stunning views south across Castletown bay and Langness peninsula.

Book now
Seal Rock offers a perfect base for a couple or small family looking for a conveniently located two bedroom property in the south of the Isle of Man. As a ground floor apartment with private parking to the rear, it is also well suited for those with mobility issues. The apartment is also pet friendly with two well-behaved dogs accepted. Both bedrooms also have en-suite bathrooms.

Located on Castletown promenade, enjoy panoramic views from the sunny south facing lounge out to sea and to Langness lighthouse. The lighthouse itself was built in 1880 to guide boats around the treacherous rocks that make up this peninsula which marks the most southerly point of the Isle of Man. On a stormy day it is not unusual to see the waves crashing over the promenade which makes for a great spectacle! To the front of the apartment there is a small patio area where you can sit and enjoy the sea air. This area is shared with neighbours however Seal Rock does have an exclusive patio area.

Castletown town centre, the ancient Capital of the Isle of Man is just 5 minutes walk away from the apartment. Go across the historic footbridge and you’ll find a choice of cafes, bars and restaurants. Castle Rushen, a medieval castle once home to the Kings and Lords of Mann is well worth a visit, as is the Nautical museum where you can discover the story of Peggy, the earliest known example of a British armed yacht.

Castletown also offers great public transport links should you not be travelling with a car. Close to the Isle of Man airport, buses serve the south of the island and Douglas every 20 minutes at peak times, and the Isle of Man Steam Railway offers a great day out with a station at Castletown.

Katherine, Beckenham - April 20 "Staying in Castletown"

We loved this property and felt that Castletown was the best place to be for a stay on the island - a short walk to all local amenties as well as buses and the heritage railway. Being close to the airport was great and because there are not many flights each day we were hardly aware it was there. The one thing which could be improved is directions from the airport to the property. It's only a 3 minute ride on the bus to the nearest stop, and the card for travel on buses and trains can be purchased at the airport on arrival. We were charged 9 by a taxi for this very short journey..

Jocelyn, Castletown - December 14 "Ok for short stay"

New appliances would be a very welcomed addition as well as some additional glasses etc Oven is non fan assisted and slow. Hob is OK. Not suitable to cook big meals in. Ok for oven food or reheating food. Only one set of bedding and towels provided every two weeks which is staying for a long time is suboptimal as have to wash and dry them the same day as no spare set is provided. Cleanliness is ok but needs a deep clean - lots of spider poo on windows and window sills. Part of kitchen floor needs replacing near the sink.Handy to walk into town and a nice view out to see. The appartment is also nice and warm.

David, Rotherham - October 31 "Seal rock -excellent "

Seal rock was perfect in every way for our needs. It is ideally sorted for travelling around the island and jet so close to Castletown you can walk and enjoy an evening meal with a glass or two of wine without worrying about taking your car.. the shops more than provide for your needs whilst on holiday.Seal rock itself as everything you require and more besides I cannot fault the Island escape staff who are always professional courteous yet full of enthusiasm for the Property and they are so helpful with any requirement. I would all heartedly recommend all holiday bookings through Island Escapes and for me seal rock would be 10 out of 10

Eileen, West Kirby - September 21, 2024 "Good acessability"

Our second visit to Seal Rock, which is excellent for mobility and sight impaired visitors as it is all on one level and no steps !The property is in a lovely position with Sea Views and a good position for Bus and Steam Train! The Kitchen appliances could do with a make over, and a Tumble dryer would make a big differenceWe hope to come back soon !

Carlton, Finstock - August 16, 2024 "Fantastic location and good facilities "

Clear arrival instructions. Ground floor apartment has easy access and good range of facilities for use, although cleaner mugs and more tumbler glasses would have been welcome.Bedrooms excellent, although twin didnt have wardrobe storage in the room, and en-suite showers fine, although water pressure was only adequate. The walk-in shower was excellent.Good sized dining table and sofa was good, perhaps a little tired.Parking was excellent on our visit, but only two other cars in the car park, as another apartment was in process of being sold.Location is excellent, looking out at Langness peninsula (over sea wall), and only a short drive or walk to the Castletown amenities.Would use again and recommend.

Jeffrey, Hull - July 6, 2024 "Annual visit to Castle Town."

Great ground floor apartment with decent access for people with disabilities. Access to small courtyard with a bench overlooking the bay. Bedrooms both have ensuite bathrooms and the master having a wet room. Had problem with the drainage in the wet room as the filter was blocked. Unlocked it and no problems after that. The apartment is roomy and comfortable. We had the bonus of use of a garage to store our motorcycles overnight. We will be booking up to stay again next year.

Guest, York - May 14, 2024 "review of my stay "

The property was ideally located the sea was across the road and it was great when the sea went out and you wanted a stroll on the beach. it was 10-15min walk into Castletown from the property, The carpets showed no sign of wear they had been replaced so had the washer machine. I would stay here again I liked this property. They was parking at the property and I could alway park if you are taking a car Local transport links are good after walking into Castletown I hopped on the bus to Port Erin

Adrian, Glenluce - May 12, 2024 "Excellent accommodation "

Great location and excellent views over the sea. I short walk into Castletown with a variety of shops. Spacious lounge with well equipped kitchen perfect for a disabled person, easy walk in shower with disabled chair on request. Parking is off road at the back of the property just enough room for a large SUV Would 100% recommend without a problem

Guest, Tiverton - December 30, 2023 "Nearly 5 stars"

A lovely location and well appointed but could do with some maintenance. The carpets are dirty/stained, there are some knocks on the walls and some curtain rings are broken. The kitchen is perhaps showing its age. It could be a 5 star apartment if it was given a little TLC

Robert, Baildon - October 12, 2023 "Seal Rock Castletown "

This is a very nice and well provisioned apartment that is less than 50m from the sea. Dog friendly and well situated for access to Castletown, Langness and Derby Haven. Booking with Island Escapes was quick and simple and cost was very appropriate for the quality of the apartment.

Helen, Nottingham - September 23, 2023 "Great location"

The best thing was its location right on the seafront. The flat was comfortable and warm and has good facilities. Overall it was clean but the coffee mugs and baking trays in the cupboards were quite dirty and had to be washed before they could be used. It was useful to have a dishwasher but this one was definitely showing its age! The kitchen did not have a door which was very inconvenient when something noisy was going on in there (dishwasher, see above, or cooker hood) and you were trying to listen to the radio or watch TV.Overall, we had an enjoyable week.

Eileen, West Kirby - September 16, 2023 "Accessible property with views"

We all enjoyed our stay at Seal Rock, comfortable and very relaxing, especially to watch the tides and listen to the waves. Enjoyed a ride on the lovely Train a few minutes walk away. Highly recommended and mobility safe.I would suggest adding a Tumble dryer, or exchanging the Washing Machine for a Washer Dryer.

Maryon, Stamford - August 7, 2023 "Delightful ground floor apartment"

My husband and I absolutely loved staying in this apartment. It has beautiful views of Castletown bay and is an easy and very attractive walk into Castletown centre. The seating in the lounge is very comfortable. We really felt at home. We had a few teething problems at the beginning of our stay, but these were all rectified promptly and cheerfully by the lovely Island Escapes staff.

Stephen, Blackpool - May 1, 2023 "Great Location"

Great, quiet location with easy access to town for pubs & restuarants. Handy for the steam train station & buses. Property very clean with fresh decor throughout. However, the fridge door didn't close correctly without an extra push - needs replacing? Dishwasher very dated & noisy but worked OK. Plenty of glasses, crockery & utensils provided along with many extras such as freezerbags, tinfoil, cleaning products etc etc. Bedding & towels freshly laundered. The only real issue was the walk-in shower room which did not clear of condensation as the small & slow extractor fan is not adequate in size to clear condensaton after showers, as there was no window to open. Great to have off street parking although the space next to the wall/hedge is not sufficient size for a larger car - the hedge needs a good pruning back but I believe this is up to the building maintenance not the owners/agents? A visitors book would be a bonus to give recommendations & tips for pubs/restautants/tourist info etc for future visitors. We would use Island Escapes again & book this property again.
