Book nowFormerly named 'Kingsley Cottage', this self-catering accommodation is based on a single level and sleeps 4 people between 2 bedrooms. It’s an ideal choice for a small family or some friends. Both bedrooms have access to the paved outdoor area where you can sit on the outdoor furniture and bask in the sun on a summer's day.
On entrance, guests are greeted by a spacious living area with a double-height ceiling stretching all of the way up to the exposed wooden beams in the loft space. Velux windows flood this area with natural light.
Duxbury Cottage is superbly located, overlooking the south of the island from the Ballamodha Straight. This is a great vantage point to experience panoramic sunsets as the sun dips behind the distant hills. The cottage is conveniently situated nearby to Silverdale Glen, Rushen Abbey and Castle Rushen, in the island’s ancient capital, Castletown.
For guests with dogs, an enclosed field of approximately four acres is available right next to the property for off-lead exercise. Access is free of charge but must be requested during the booking process.
South Barrule plantation is minutes away, where you can walk your dog, adventure on quad bikes, play outdoor laser tag or walk amongst the trees on a high line obstacle course! You can also find purpose-built mountain bike trails in the plantation. Stumble upon the cosy Coffee Cottage, who serve food and drink in front of a log burner to keep you nice and toasty!

A well equipped and spacious barn which met our needs ( pensioner couple with a dog). The property is, however, very open to a busy main road so dogs cannot be off lead. The owner called round to see us and was friendly and helpful. There was lots of information about local places provided in the cottage in addition to all the information provided by Island Escapes.
Very nice cottage, well laid out, clean and v.comfortable with good wifi and we'll equipped for guests
We use Island Escapes twice a year when visiting family on the island. We have stayed in a number of different places offered through Island Escapes and Kingsley Cottage offers a similar standard. The cottage is well placed to serve visiting all parts of the Island, providing comfortable accommodation, good kitchen facilities but showing minor wear and tear in certain parts of the property. The combined kitchen and lounge area is very spacious as are the two bedrooms and shower room.Kingsley cottage is comparable to other accommodation we have used in the past, with each of those we have stayed offering something different for us.The property sits on the side of a main road and is exposed to the elements particularly the wind! However, we would recommend this property and would have no hesitation in booking this for future visits.
The owners were lovely, the accommodation was beautiful and well equipped for everyones needs. We had a very enjoyable and comfortable stay. Its a good location easily accessible to everywhere ( by car). 10 mins to Port St. Mary or Port Erin or Castletown, 15 mins to Douglas or Peel areas. I would happily stay there again and highly recommend booking.
Enjoyed our stay at Kingsley Cottage. Peaceful location..beautifully furnished and well equipped .Has everything you need. Comfortable beds, clean and really high standard accomodation..would highly recommend. Great location for exploring the island
Stunning property in a great location. The owners were fantastic they welcomed us to the property and were on hand if we needed anything. Highly recommend this place and is great for families with plenty of outdoor space for kids to play. Would happily stop here again.
Fantastic property, great location easy reach to Castle Town, Port Erin and Douglas. Would stay here again.
First time to the IOM and we had a lovely stay. Cottage had everything we needed and was a perfect base for our holiday, even with our 6.3m camper van and 3 dogs. Tea, coffee & milk were much appreciated - thank you.
This made a comfortable base for our holiday. The bed was excellent and the kitchen and bathroom well fitted with good quality equipment. It would have been nice to have seen some form of welcome pack, even if this had consisted of no more than a pint of milk and some biscuits. We were also somewhat surprised to find that what we viewed as basics, i.e. iron/ironing board and a teapot, were not provided. As we weren't provided with information as to when bins would be emptied and the owners lived on site, I can't help thinking it would have been more appropriate if they had taken on this responsibility themselves.Having said all of the above, this was still a comfortable base for our holiday and none of the points mentioned spoiled our enjoyment.
Stunning barn conversion, immaculate inside with everything you need, set in a quite location overlooking fields.
Fantastic stay at Kingsley cottage , stunning location, beautiful property first class dog friendly accommodation everything we needed to enjoy our stay and we were so lucky with the weather. Would definitely recommend this accommodation spotless inside and outside and very well maintained .
Really modern and nicely decorated converted barn in a very central location. Really conformable and had everything we needed. Host greeted us on arrival and was on hand if needed but it wasn't. Would highly recommend..
