Sound of the sea is a newly refurbished 3 bedroom apartment in a lovely location sitting overlooking Port Erin bay, in the south west of the Isle of Man.

Located on the top floor of a quiet building containing two other apartments, Sound of the Sea enjoys panoramic views from its elevated position, across Port Erin bay south to the Calf of Man, and west to Bradda head and the Mourne mountains of Northern Ireland. Look right down at the waves lapping onto the shingle beach at Spaldrick immediately below, and just a couple of minutes walk down the winding path you can get onto the beach itself from the path opposite the apartment.

Port Erin and its main sandy beach is just a 10 minute walk down the promenade. A mecca for watersports enthusiasts, sea swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, sailing and snorkelling can all be enjoyed, with many of these offered by the various activity providers located by the beach. Bradda Glen and Milners tower, a 19th centurry folly can be accessed by the footpath which starts across the road. The view from the top is well worth the hike!

The apartment itself consists of a Lounge and Dining room at the front of the building with the kitchen and a twin and single room to the rear. The master bedroom is located up a short steep staircase and this room also benefits from an ensuite shower room and views of the bay from the velux roof windows.

The apartment was conveniently located with parking outside the front door. The views were incredible, with a quiet beach and walks opposite the property, which was important to us as we had a dog with us.Entering the apartment meant using several sets of stairs, which may mean it isn't suitable for everyone. There was a further set of steep stairs up to the main bedroom, which put us of from using it. The apartment was well appointed and comfortable, although the necessity for internal fire doors was a bit of an inconvenience at times.All in all we really enjoyed our stay and found Island Escapes staff to be very helpful. We would recommend booking with them and would recommend this apartment without any hesitation.

There is nothing negative I say about this apartment, perhaps the three flights of stairs may be a bit much for some, after a long day out and about they did seem like a mountain, but the view from the lounge window is second to none. The apartment is clean, well appointed, and very well equipped, we had an extremely relaxed stay, beds were comfortable and the bread, cheese, tea, coffee bags and milk was very much appreciated after a long day of travelling, we would come back and stay here again.

Came to stay for a family visit to isle of man. The apartment was perfect for up to 5 people even though there were only 3 of us. Beautiful location with stunning views across Port Erin and Bradda. Very well furnished and incredibly spacious it was immaculate I felt like we were the first visitors. Layout ideal for a family with. Would highly recommend.
