A beautifully renovated Manx stone barn in Ballaugh
Book now
The Glaicke Beg is a detached holiday home for two, blending traditional charm with modern comfort. Just 500 yards from the famous Ballaugh Bridge, it's the perfect base to relax and enjoy everything the island has to offer. Guests are welcomed with a thoughtful complimentary hamper, and the barn's cosy log burner, private terrace and peaceful setting make it ideal for a couple's retreat.
Ballaugh itself is a delightful village with local shops and The Raven, a traditional country pub full of character. The area is also one of the best spots on the TT course, while nature lovers can enjoy long walks on Ballaugh Beach or visit the nearby Curraghs - home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including the island's wild wallabies. Excellent transport links mean Ramsey, Peel and beyond are all within easy reach.
For those who enjoy the outdoors, Ballaugh is perfectly placed for both walking and cycling. The nearby Ballaugh Plantation offers peaceful forest tracks, while the surrounding hills provide more challenging routes with far-reaching views across the island. Just a 10-minute walk from The Glaicke Beg lies the Manx Wildlife Trust’s Glen Dhoo Nature Reserve. Tucked away in a remote valley, it’s a haven of tranquillity where tributary streams meet beneath the steep slopes of Slieau Curn and Slieau Dhoo. The ruins of an old tholtan hint at the farming community that once lived here in the 19th century, making it a place rich in both natural beauty and local history.
